It’s really not you – it’s just numbers!
Every ‘No’ takes you one step closer to a ‘Yes’. I know that you’ve probably heard that said repeatedly before but the fact remains – it’s the way it works. It’s a numbers game.
If you are not hearing No then you’re not talking to enough people.
You have to keep this key point in mind. It’s not you or even your product that they are saying ‘No’ to. It simply means it wasn’t the right decision for that individual at that time, which is outside of your control and therefore really nothing to do with you. So don’t take it personally.
Ready – Fire – Aim
You want to tell someone about your business but something is stopping you from taking the plunge. In a way that’s great news, after all if you are feeling anxious about presenting your business it means that growing your business is important to you.
First and foremost be sure to know your business and its products. Once you’ve done some of the training, it’s time to put it into action; it’s really as simple as that. It doesn’t matter what the other person thinks of you, it’s your responsibly to simply spread the word about your business.
The next time you meet a potential client count to three (to yourself of course!) and talk about your business, that way you won’t even give your thoughts a second chance to interfere with your presentation.
The paralysis of analysis
Do you find yourself using every excuse to avoid going out into the big wide world and making a start on your business?
Starting your business can be daunting but that’s only because it’s new to you, but sitting at home organising your filing system will not move your business forward! It’s not because you aren’t ready that you feel like this, it’s because you’re stepping outside of your comfort zone.
The good thing is that everyone who has made it in business has been through exactly the same emotions and fears that you are now facing. Your performance does not have to be perfect – you don’t have to know everything and your style will be different from everyone else, but that’s the unique thing about you and your business.
Have the confidence to move your business forward, don’t waste the knowledge you have learned and the investment you made.
